We didn’t win Best Kept Village competition this year, but we did do very well. We were awarded a Certificate of Merit.
Weedon village, a multiple winner of the Gurney Cup, won again this year with a score of 179 out of 200. We scored 165, so were within 10% of the winner.
The competition was well supported by both of our villages, with some outstanding extra efforts
- Cutting back and cleaning road signs
- Bus shelter painting
- Litter picking
- Bin levelling
- Weed eradication
- Wildflower nurturing
- Resident discounts at local businesses
Our sincere thanks to everyone who got involved. We are determined to do better next year and win the Gurney Cup.
